Van Conversion

Mini Van Conversion on a mini budget

Virtual teacher and caring mother, our client wanted a simple build that fit into a modest budget so she could have a sleeping space while on the road, traveling to visit her adult children in multiple states.  Priorities were adequate storage, a sleeping area that still allowed her to comfortably sit in the surface with her feet on the floor, and be able to save enough room to use floor space for a potential sink/counter to be added later. A cozy, safe, and comfortable home away from home was achieved within a mini budget by using creative design, and many reclaimed materials provided by the client.

"Erick, and Krystle Lopez of Studio Express van conversions in Fort Myers just completed a conversion on my tiny Nissan NV 200 cargo van. Erick and his wife are among the most professional (and nicest) people I have met. Due to my shoestring budget, I cherry–picked pieces of this build. Erick was so patient, flexible, and skilled in constructing these components, as well as in offering guidance in areas that I wasn’t sure about. He did a great job installing walls, building the expandable bed with storage compartments below (my favorite part!), creating a long storage bench behind the front seats and installing a Maxxair fan in the roof. Although I didn’t have the budget for a kitchen or plumbing, he completed a beautiful large bus rebuild with both of these things just prior to my little van. If you’re looking for quick, competent and professional work – this is the place!"

It truly is "an apartment on wheels" with its clean, modern interior with spacious storage opportunities, fully solar, and wifi capabilities!

Forest River Travel Trailer Remodel

Video Highlight

Forest River Vibe Travel Trailer Remodel for a full-time family of four.

With the family’s move from a 3200 sq foot home into a travel trailer, this design and renovation had to offer optimal function with multipurpose uses of each space. It was important to this family of 4 that the living space be a multifunctional common room area that is comfortable for family time while relaxing and sharing meals together, while also being functional for the oldest child to engage in virtual school and for the parents to complete their remote work. This required creating multiple seating and desk surface options. Additionally, individualized design features for functionality, safety and sensory needs were also thoughtfully implemented to meet the needs of the youngest child.

  • Sensory: including brightening the entire unit with white paint, minimizing visual distractions with increased closed storage space, custom dining area and seating area in the main cabin space to increase room for all family members to comfortably sit together.
  • Safety features: covers over wall controls, door locks to prevent eloping, bed safety rails
  • Functionality: creation of custom desk in kids bedroom to use for virtual school, tele-therapy, and recreational play that doubles as stairs to one of the bunk beds & is also used as storage for the kids’ clothing and school supplies.

City Transit Bus Conversion

City Transit Bus Conversion

Always fascinated by tiny homes, Erick took an interest in container homes. Wanting to be more mobile, his eye led to exploring bus conversions. Erick knew he wanted to do something even more unique than the skoolies he’d seen, so he chose a city bus — but it didn’t stop there. Adding custom double slide outs, a custom built bathtub, full washer dryer, and loads of hidden storage, this home away from home marries form & function with a luxury feel and design that just works for everyday life.
